FLOYD Mayweather’s superfight against Conor McGregor will cost a staggering $ 99.99 (A$ 130) to watch on pay-per-view.
American fans will have to dig deep into their pockets to watch the Las Vegas showdown in HD, with standard definition still costing an eye-watering A$ 116.
Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reported the prices will match the fees for Mayweather’s bout with Manny Pacquiao.
That fight took over $ 593 million in PPV sales alone, which is due to be eclipsed by the McGregor clash.
British fans are yet to find out what they will have to fork out for the tasty showdown.
The Pacquiao bout was a record £24.95 (A$ 42) — even more expensive than Mayweather vs British brawler Ricky Hatton.
Both boxers are keen not to discuss their purses but McGregor is expected to net around £58m to rival Money’s £77m.
Mayweather will be glad for the bumper payday after reportedly asking for an extension on his tax bill.
Law360 claims the American boxing legend has filed a petition to the IRS asking for a short-term instalment plan.
According to the report, the 40-year-old — who Forbes estimate is worth $ 447 million claimed his money is not accessible and cannot be converted into cash.
Mayweather apparently wrote: “Although the taxpayer has substantial assets, those assets are restricted and primarily illiquid.
“The taxpayer has a significant liquidity event scheduled in about 60 days from which he intends to pay the balance of the 2015 tax liability due and outstanding.”
McGregor and Mayweather finally announced their mega-fight after months of negotiations between the pair’s camps.
The fight will take place on August 26 with Mayweather Promotions having reportedly booked the 20,000 capacity T-Mobile Arena.
The duo are set to hold a press conference in London this week which you can attend for free.
