I think Renato Sanches will sign for Liverpool – Paul Mariner

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are open to a loan exit for Sanches as he goes in search of game time to help his development.

The 19-year-old had been linked with Chelsea but they’ve subsequently moved for Tiemoue Bakayako.

And that’s left former Arsenal star Mariner believing a move to Anfield is on the cards.

He told ESPN FC: “No, not yet, I don’t think so. I think it would be a bit too much for him.

“I think if he goes to Chelsea he just goes into the rotation. That’s not what he wants.

“He’s a fantastic player this kid, a young player, a sensational player.

“I think that he may end up at Liverpool.”

There have been reports in Germany this week claiming Jurgen Klopp wants Sanches if Philippe Coutinho leaves for Barcelona.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are interested in Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater as options in midfield.

Sanches made 17 Bundesliga appearances last season following his £31.3million move to Bayern from Benfica.

Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti yesterday tried to insist he’s going nowhere and said: “Renato Sanches will stay with us until the end of the transfer window.”
