It has been revealed that travellers choosing to get their money at Southampton Airport would get just 87 cents for £1.
The atrocious rate wasn’t much better at other airports including Manchester and Gatwick, offering like for like at just €1 for £1.
Those looking to avoid the fees altogether may want to do away with holiday money altogether and use a debit or credit card.
Whilst Martin Lewis offers the best card suggestions for the lowest fee, the newest Monzo card is a popular choice for travellers.
As a prepaid bank card, its one of the few to have no fees when using it abroad.
It even offers the best rates, yet with a waiting list of over 18,000 people, those heading away need to get theirs quickly.
