God bless a sturdy guardrail: Rally car saved from the abyss

Anybody who has ever driven a mountain pass, peered over the edge and wondered if the guardrail could prevent a plunge into the great beyond can appreciate this video.

Rally driver Tomasz Kasperczyk and his co-pilot in the Rally Islas Canaries in the Canary Islands this week avoided a death plunge thanks to a guardrail after losing control in a curve.

It was a close call, though. While neither racer was injured, the rail was badly damaged and half the car ended up dangling off the road.
