IN a photo posted to social media Adelaide Crows star Rory Sloane cradles his firstborn son who was stillborn two weeks ago.
The Sloane family has been grappling with the loss of Leo Rory Sloane with mum Belinda posting the intimate photo to coincide with Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day to our hero,” Belinda commented on the photo.
“Leo and I love you.”
Leo was stillborn in late August with Sloane missing the final game of the AFL season against Carlton to be at his wife’s side.
The Adelaide Crows said Sloane was a late withdrawal “due to a private family matter”.
The Crows team wore black arm bands as they thrashed Carlton by 104 points.
Last week the pair posted identical social media messages where they were pictured holding the hand of their baby.
“Last week we said goodbye to our beautiful little man,” Sloane wrote on his Instagram account.
“Leo Rory Sloane was born into the world still, but perfect.
“Thanks for making us the proudest parents and filling our hearts with love beyond measure, the moments we had with you are now beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.”
