Victory means England have now qualified for next year’s World Cup in Russia.
Kane has now scored 14 goals in his last nine appearances for club and country.
Wright was full of praise for his movement for the winner after the match.
“He led by example,” he said on ITV.
“He hasn’t really done too much in the game.
“I think there is a bit of movement in this which is perfect for young strikers because of what happens with the defender.
“Kyle Walker does well, he whips in a great ball, they know each other.
“But the defender earlier in the move just turns away, we’ll see it in this angle.
“It just gives Harry Kane that impetus to make that run when he turns.
“There, that is it, that’s where he gets that half a yard and that is why he gets this goal.
“That’s where he gets that half a yard from.”
