The Irishman climbed into the octagon to celebrate team-mate Charlie Ward’s first round win.
But as he was not a licensed cornerman he was forbidden to enter the cage.
McGregor was captured on camera flying over the barrier and hugging his team-mate.
But referee Marc Goddard ordered him away.
The 29-year-old pushed the official, who stumbled backwards, before security intervened.
Defeated opponent John Redmond was still on the canvas as the melee was escalating around him.
After McGregor was restrained, he continued to hurl abuse at the referee.
The ‘Notorious’ can be heard shouting “I’m sick of you. That was a f***ing stoppage.”
McGregor then tried to run back into the octagon and when stopped again, swung a punch at Bellator staff member Mike Johnson.
Bellator have since released a statement, which reads: “We’re aware of the in-cage altercation involving Conor McGregor and a Bellator staff member.
“Viacom and Bellator hold the safety and well-being of our staff in the highest regard and we’re currently reviewing the situation.”
McGregor has since been captured on another video ranting outside of the arena.
