After losing his place to Daniel Ricciardo, Vettel had some defending to do with Verstappen chasing him down.
The Red Bull driver saw an opportunity to overtake the championship leader at the hairpin but the move did not go to plan.
Verstappen dived down the inside late into the hairpin but didn’t leave enough room and touched the Ferrari causing both cars to spin.
“I don’t think I need to say anything,” Vettel fumed over the radio.
Vettel dropped down into seventh as a result of Verstappen’s move while the Dutchman dropped to fifth.
Verstappen was later handed a 10 second penalty for causing the collision with Vettel which will be applied to his time at the end of the race.
After losing his place to Verstappen earlier in the race, Hamilton was able to move above the Red Bull driver after the collision.
However, with the Red Bulls on softer tyres, it didn’t take long for Verstappen to overtake Hamilton and move back into fourth.
