Chelsea transfer news LIVE updates: Rudiger claim, Lukaku blow, Matic to Man Utd latest

CHELSEA TRANSFER NEWS LIVE – Follow all the latest updates coming out of Stamford Bridge.

Thursday July 6

02:30: Nemanja Matic’s proposed move to Manchester United could be called off.

Chelsea’s impending signing of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is said to be playing a big role in Matic’s future.

And according to The Sun, Jose Mourinho will end his interest if a deal is not done soon.

Mourinho wants to hear back from his former club within 48 hours.

However, the Daily Mail claim United remain quietly confident they can land Matic, with Chelsea close to landing Bakayoko.

02:00: Manchester United are reportedly set to hijack Chelsea’s long-standing move for Romelu Lukaku.

Everton’s hitman has been heavily linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, although the Blues have struggled to reach an agreement over a fee.

United have been pursuing a deal quietly while also trying to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

And according to the Daily Mail, Lukaku could now join United instead of Chelsea for a world-record £100m.

01:30: Antonio Rudiger will complete his move to Chelsea next week.

That is according to Yahoo Sports contributor Amy Christophers.

The Roma centre-half is edging close to joining Antonio Conte’s side and will apparently cost £35m.

Despite undergoing a medical, it appears though that an announcement is not imminent.

01:00: Chelsea striker Diego Costa will complete his move to Atletico Madrid in the next few hours, according to Spanish journalist Manu Sainz‏.

Sainz wrote on Twitter: “In the next few hours will be official the signing of Diego Costa by Atletico.”

Costa was reportedly informed via text message last month he would not be part of Antonio Conte’s plans for the new season.

He has been linked with a big-money move to China but the 28-year-old’s preference has always been to return to Atletico.
