The Reds booked their place in the final four of the Champions League with a comfortable 5-1 aggregate over Manchester City earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Roma pulled off a memorable second leg comeback against Spanish champions-elect Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico.
Both teams now eagerly await their semi-final fate when the draw gets underway later today.
But Roma appeared to jump the gun on their club website on Thursday.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted that tickets for a clash against Liverpool were being sold to home fans.
The fixture date was shown as May 2, which is the date the second legs of the Champions League semi-final are scheduled to be played.
This would mean Liverpool would welcome the Serie A outfit to Anfield on April 25 or 26.
Fans on Merseyside took to Twitter after spotting the apparent blunder online.
“Apparently tickets for Liverpool vs Roma were being sold, all will be found out tomorrow about UEFA,” one wrote.
While another said: “If this happens,I won’t trust @UEFA again!”
But one sceptical fan wasn’t believing the leaked rumours.
“Honestly Liverpool fans are so dumb sometimes. Stop blowing things up,” he responded.
Liverpool are preparing for their first Champions League semi-final since 2008.
While Roma have never progressed to the last four of the competition.
The UEFA Champions League draw gets underway at 12pm.
