Caslick double sets up semi-final showdown against Canada

ON the back of a brace of tries to playmaker Charlotte Caslick, Australia’s women’s sevens team survived a scare against Fiji to win 17-10 on the Gold Coast.

Australia never trailed, but Fiji missed the chance to take the lead midway through the second half after a second missed conversion attempt.

With the scores locked at 10-10 late in the match, Caslick broke away to score her second long-range try and seal Australia’s third win of the Games.

Australia will face Canada at 10:59pm (AEST) for a place in the gold medal match.

New Zealand and England will compete in the second semi-final.

More to come.
