Carlo Ancelotti offers huge Robert Lewandowski injury update ahead of Real Madrid clash

Bayern Munich host Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena for tonight’s first leg in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Bayern’s leading goalscorer Lewandowski missed Monday’s training session with a shoulder problem, making him a huge doubt to face Real.

The Poland international has been crucial for the Bundesliga giants this season, scoring 38 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

But Ancelotti admits he could have his star man in action tonight after the 28-year-old trained for 20 minutes yesterday.

The Italian said in yesterday’s press conference: “Lewandowski trained today only for 20 minutes, because he had a problem in his last game.

“He felt good, but we’ll see how he feels tomorrow. If he has no pain, he will play, if he has pain, he won’t play.

“I can’t give a percentage, he trained today and we have to see how he feels.

“He had a good feeling, but I can’t say whether he will feel better or not (tomorrow).”
