The 2017-18 season’s first piece of major silverware is up for grabs with the Premier League leaders the favourites to come out on top.
The competition represents the Gunners’ best chance of a trophy this term with there being some tough opponents left in the Europa League. It is the only domestic prize that Arsene Wenger has not won in his 21 years at the club.
For Pep Guardiola‘s dominant Manchester City side the EFL Cup would almost certainly secure them the double and even perhaps set them on the way to a treble thanks to their firm grip on the league title, while Champions League success is also achievable.
