Britons are cancelling their holiday plans this summer for fear of THIS

Many European countries have been targeted by terrorist attacks in recent months.

Paris has suffered in recent years with attacks throughout the city.

The UK has also been targeted with the Manchester attack followed by the London Bridge attack

However, it seems some Britons are now cancelling their holidays abroad in light of recent terror threats.

Research by World Travel Market London found that of 2,000 Britons asked, 16 per cent admitted to not travelling or cancelling their holidays due to the threat of terrorism.

Another 17 per cent admitted that whilst they haven’t cancelled their plans, they would avoid countries that are currently at a ‘high’ terror threat level.

Paul Nelson, World Travel Market spokesperson, commented: “With most capital cities on high alert, it’s hardly surprising that we are more cautious in our decision when it comes to holidays.”

It also reports a surge in bookings to safer destinations such as Greece and Portugal.

Yet it isn’t all bad news.

Over half of those asked (55 per cent) that it has not affected their travelling this year.

Yet they also admitted that they felt there was a “distinct lack of travel advice on where is safe to go.”
