Today marks a year since the vote for Brexit took place.
It was suggested that the uncertainty could affect tourism in the UK.
However new studies have found that this hasn’t proven to be the case in the past year.
In fact, it appears to have increased since the vote which is great news for the tourism industry.
Barclays Destination UK report showed that of 7,000 international holidaymakers, many still saw the UK as a hot travel destination.
Sixty per cent of them asked were more interested in coming to the UK than they were in 2016.
That increased to 97 per cent who expressed a desire to see the country at some point.
And with that amounting to £2.7 billion being spent by overseas visitors in January and February alone, suggestions that the UK would be less of a holiday choice for travellers appears to have been unfounded.
It comes in light of the recent news regarding Britons choosing the UK over foreign holidays abroad.
The research shows that more than a third of Britons would prefer to stay in the country for this holiday this year.
The biggest reason was to see more of the UK, showing a pride in the country.
Whilst popular destinations abroad such as Spain and Croatia are still high on holidaymakers list, the influx of travellers and Britons mean that the money brought into the UK by tourism is still at a high.
