Best cruise holidays 2017 REVEALED – with indoor skydiving and rock climbing winners

Cruise fans can rejoice as the world’s best cruise holidays of the year have been revealed.

The Cruise Critics annual Awards in London chose the best cruise liners in a number of categories, from dining to nightlife, value to entertainment, as well as excursions, ports and even best spas.

Two cruise holidays swept the board with Uniworld taking three awards with them for Best Luxury, Best Service and Best River Cruise Line.

Celebrity Cruises also won out for Best Shore Excursions, Best Romance and Best Cabins.

They weren’t the only cruise liner to come out on top for the night.

The Best New Ship was chosen as MSC Meraviglia, the fourth biggest in the world which can hold a whopping 4,475 people.

Hosting a unique Cirque du Solei performance onboard as well as speciality restaurants with the finest Japanese and steak cuisine, it’s no wonder it won the prestigious award.

Royal Caribbean, a favourite with UK travellers won the Best Entertainment, featuring indoor skydiving and rock climbing, swell as, as well as Best Suites.

Some of the fanciest suites include the largest Presidential Family Suite which can hold up to 14 peoples well as an industry first double-height loft suite.

The Best Adventure cruise liner went to Hurtigruten, who is known for having a 100 per cent guarantee Northern Lights offer, with every traveller getting to see the famous natural phenomena.

Those looking to go on their first cruise should choose Viking River Cruise, which won the Best for First-Timers.

For those wanting to avoid flying, thankfully the Best Port was chosen as Southampton, where most UK cruises depart from.

This includes P&O, Cunard, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Norwegian Cruise line.
