Arsene Wenger will stay: Arsenal boss targets £55m spending spree on Premier League duo

Arsene Wenger has got a huge shopping list which would suggest that he will be staying at the Emirates Stadium after his contract expires at the end of next month.

The Gunners want a striker, a winger, a central defender, a left-back and a goalkeeper after seeing their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League will be evaporate.

Mahrez, who is rated at around £30 million by Leicester who were deposed as Premier League champions by Chelsea on Friday night is at the top of their wanted list.

But there is plenty of competition for the Algerian with French giants Paris St-Germain who failed to sign him last summer are also interested.

Mahrez, who has three years left to run on his £100,000 a week contract that he signed 12 months ago will tell The Foxes that he wants to move on.

Meanwhile Wenger has had his scouts make regular checks on Gibson the nephew of Boro owner Steve, who is also a target for Chelsea and Liverpool.

Gibson has four years left to run on his contract but relegation from the Premier League is likely to mean that Boro will be looking to cash in on their most prized asset.

They value him at £30 million which is around £5 million more than the Gunners value him as well as his others suitors.
