Arsene Wenger is keen to land a marquee striker as he bids to kick start a new era the Emirates after signing a two-year contract extension.
And The Sun claim Wenger has held talks with Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas this week over a £50million transfer.
This would make him the club’s record signing as Wenger looks to spend big this summer.
The report adds Lacazette has been promised a £200,000-a-week contract.
01:30: Mesut Ozil has declared his admiration for Schalke amid doubt over his future at Arsenal.
“Schalke is my absolute favourite club, I’m still a big fan,” Ozil told Funke Media Group.
“After all, I grew up with Schalke.
“In terms of potential, Schalke is the number three for me in Germany after Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
“They have wonderful fans and a great stadium. It is a pity that they are stuck in mediocrity. This fantastic club deserves more.”

And Turkish outlet AMK claim he has been offered a way out of the Emirates by Fenerbahce with the club in advanced talks over a transfer.
Perez made just 11 Premier League appearances for Arsenal last season and scored one goal.
