Oxlade-Chamberlain is out of contract at the end of this season and Arsenal are reluctant to let him leave on a free transfer.
Reports emerged suggesting the Gunners are hoping to tie the 24-year-old down to a new deal.
It was suggested the north London outfit are hoping to offer a four-year deal to ward off interest from Chelsea.
Antonio Conte hasn’t been entirely satisfied with the Blues’ transfer dealings this summer, despite bringing in Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Ruidger, Willy Caballero and Alvaro Morata.
And according to the Daily Mail, talks between the Gunners and Oxlade-Chamberlain are scheduled to take place later this week.
Such discussions could have a huge influence on whether the England international stays.
The Mail adds Chelsea will be keeping a keen eye on proceedings, as they still remain interested in signing the winger.
Arsene Wenger insisted earlier this summer that Oxlade-Chamberlain would ‘100 per cent’ be staying at the Emirates.
“Alex [Oxlade-Chamberlain] will stay,” Wenger said.
“100 per cent I expect him to stay. There is no speculation. No matter what happens he will stay.”
