Arsenal’s record signing started up front alongside Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi and had arguably the big chance of the match but struck his effort over the bar from a few yards out.
Lacazette was then brought off for Alexis Sanchez in the 65th minute at Stamford Bridge, making it the fourth match this season that he’s been taken off in by Wenger.
The Arsenal boss spoke earlier in the season about Lacazette needing time to adapt to English football.
And after the 0-0 draw with Chelsea, Wenger admitted the France striker is struggling to keep up at the required intensity.
Wenger said: “I felt Lacazette had a very good first half.
“He worked very hard for the team, he’s very disciplined and it takes him some time to maintain that intensity for 90 minutes.
“Don’t forget as well I had Walcott, Giroud and Alexis on the bench, so after 65 minutes in a game of that intensity, it’s normal that you bring some fresh legs in.
“I never ask any striker to understand that he has to make room for somebody else.
“You can never do that.”
