Andy Murray seen LIMPING in practice session at Wimbledon; qualifier opponent TBC

Murray, who has pulled out of two warm up games and not practised for two days because of a sore hip, went through his paces for 45 minutes this morning and then did a second session.

When asked how he felt, the world No 1, scheduled to face a qualifier or a lucky loser on his opening game on Monday, said: “I haven’t tested it yet. I’m midway through my practice.”

Murray had to rest on several occasions in his second session and was limping as he walked around the court hitting with Belgian player Steve Darcis.

Murray will start his campaign at the All England Club on Monday at 2pm against either a qualifier or a lucky loser – meaning he may face British qualifier and world number 855 Alex Ward.

The 30-year-old has been drawn in the same half as French Open champion Rafael Nadal, could face Stan Wawrinka in the semi-finals and a potential final with Roger Federer.

Andy Murray will not find out his opening-round opponent until later today but he has been handed a potentially tricky first week.

He may play Dustin Brown in the second round, where the German knocked out Nadal two years ago, while big-hitting Italian Fabio Fognini may lurk in round three.

The Scot’s preparations for Wimbledon have been far from ideal as he is suffering a hip problem that caused him to pull out of two exhibition games this week.

Murray will not play at London’s Hurlingham Club today after being warned by his medical team to rest for a couple of days.

He withdrew from his first warm up game on Tuesday, he has not practised since, he will now go into Wimbledon with only one full match on grass under his belt – and apparent concerns about his fitness.

“Sadly I won’t be ready to play at The Hurlingham,” said Murray. “My hip is still sore and I need to rest it.”

But his coach Lendl, who joined up with Murray three weeks ago as he reached the semi-finals at the French Open, said: “I’m not worried.

“We had two weeks of uninterrupted sunshine, and even though Andy didn’t play well at Queens Club, we had great practices.”

Murray was knocked out of his usual warm up tournament at Queens at the first attempt last week by lucky loser Jordan Thompson.
