Far from the earlier semi-final final when Sloane Stephens produced sublime tennis to edge out the great Venus Williams in three thrilling sets, Keys didn’t give her opponent a sniff and she was dominant from start to finish.
Keys was stronger in every single department as Vandeweghe had no answer and she romped to a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
The American came racing out of the traps and was unplayable in the opening set.
Her powerful, flat groundstrokes were too much for Vandeweghe to handle.
Vandeweghe had mixed success when she served and volleyed.
But Keys bullied her and took the opener in just 25 minutes.
The 22-year-old went off court to have her right leg, which appeared to be causing her discomfort, have her right leg strapped.
She held her serve when it mattered to most to open a 3-1 lead in the second set.
Keys finished off the match with an ace and will face Sloane Stephens in the final.
