Lacazette, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with Arsene Wenger keen to sign a top striker.
The Gunners boss tried to sign the France international last summer, but failed to reach an agreement with his representatives.
Reports this week claim the Gunners are finally edging closer to getting their man with the Premier League giants hopeful of finalising a £44m deal for him next week.
And Lyon chief Aulas has revealed that Arsenal‘s interest in their prized asset is genuine.
But they are in no rush to sell with Atletico Madrid still a possible destination for him in January once their transfer ban is lifted.
“I do not intend to sell Alexander quickly, because there is always the option of Atletico Madrid to signing him on January 1, 2018,” Aulas told L’Equipe.
“I also listen to what Alexander says.
“I saw Arsene during the match between France and England [on June 13]. I was with Gerard Houllier [who is an adviser to Aulas] and I understand he told Gerard that there could be an interest from Arsenal.
“But it is premature to say that things will be done.
“We can not let a player of that quality go without his replacement [lined up].
Lyon have accepted that Lacazette will leave the club, but they are determined to get the right price for him.
Before his proposed move to Atletico collapsed they were willing to pay £57m for his services and Aulas has told Arsenal they must up their bid and match this figure.
