A SOFT trial win at Werribee on Friday has lightly raced gelding Booradley ready to atone for a costly debut defeat earlier this year.

The three-year-old from the Lindsay Park team had a few favours in the 800m heat but did it easily under no pressure and, certainly out of town, he is sure to be competitive.

HEAT 1 (1100M, 1:07.88): LOYALTY MAN found an easy lead and held a couple on BLACKMAKER and MANHATTAN VIXEN. DUCHESS KATE moved to fourth around SUB COOL. Blackmaker got within a length of Loyalty Man before the turn then put under pressure and the leader kicked away. Manhattan Vixen ran to second beaten a couple. Others: Cape Londonderry, Manapine, Sweet Lullaby.

HEAT 2 (800M, 49.38): OVERSTAY led off the fence with SPEAK SOFTLY (2f, Hayes/Dabernig) on the inside, KING OF VANDALS (2g, Blackiston) and LESSYD behind them. Speak Softly took over around the bend and just had the better of Overstay late, they got away four lengths on LADY OF FLANDERS (2f, Blackiston) getting through for third. Others: Flying Flywheel, Rimraam.

STOP WATCH: Trackwork times for NSW, Victoria

HEAT 3 (48.96): ROYAL PHOENIX gathered speed to lead early while SPEARHEAD and RED LIBERTY (3g, O’Brien) improved to join him. NIMINYPIMINY and LA VOLT settled next. Under some pressure Red Liberty finished best to beat La Volt closing, also under riding, and Royal Phoenix. Others: Savatone, New Deal, Del Prado.

HEAT 4 (49.99): PACO EXPRESS shared the lead with BOLEK (2c, Moroney) clear of FLIRTDEUS (4m, Kavanagh) and JEST FOR THE ROAD. In a very tight finish Jest For The Road edged to the lead late beating Flirtdeus and Bolek holding on for third, though none were tested. Others: Schilleraine, Reality Show, Visavis (lost rider).

HEAT 5 (49.01): TAKEMEHOMEMISTER (2g, Hawkes) and TAHI contested the lead with PAPER CHASER three out around them. SALLYBROOK and SIMEULUE (2f, Cameron) were the next pair. Tahi got the better of Takemehomemister about 100m out only to be swamped by PREZADO (2g, Ellerton/Zaha) with EXCELTARA (2g, Ellerton/Zahra) running on in third. Other: Awake In Grinzing.

HEAT 6 (49.86): GRAMERCY (2f, Corstens) led clearly from KENTUCKY BREEZE (2g, L Kavanagh) with OH SO CLASSY (2f, Hayes/Dabernig) improving and PERUN (2g, Waller) wider out. Kentucky Breeze got an inside run on the turn and went through to beat Oh So Classy, going well, and Gramercy just held on for third. Others: Unresolved, Red Devil.

HEAT 7 (49.80): SEPOY/RUNAWAY JESSE (O’Brien) ran through to lead ALL OF ME (2f, Ellerton/Zahra) and VELVET GLOVE outside them. SERAMASA, ALL TOO POWERFUL (2g, O’Brien) and RUNBRO (2c, Corstens) made another line of three. Sepoy/Runaway Jesse wasn’t asked for anything and Seramasa and All Of Me hit the line together ridden out. Other: Impossibly.

HEAT 8 (49.82): EIFFEL TOWER (2f, Hayes/Dabernig) had the head in front of a line including PRETTY MAMA, BOORADLEY and SEPOY/OBSIDIAN (O’Brien). Booradley took the inside run and hit the lead early in the straight and comfortably held Sepoy/Obsidian and Eiffel Tower. Other: Arundel Star.
