Liverpool News: Reds in Dembele talks, Mane sends injury message, Milner's rallying call

Liverpool have reportedly met with representatives of Paris Saint-Germain teenager Mahamadou Dembele.

French newspaper L’Equipe say the Reds are the frontrunners to sign the 19-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.

Teams in Germany are also said to be interested in Dembele.

Sadio Mane says he hopes to return from injury better than ever after having surgery on his knee.

“It’s great that I have received so many encouraging messages from fans around the world, particularly on social media,” Mane said.

“It makes me proud and gives me so much power that so many supporters of Liverpool and Senegal give me such great support.

“I’d like to say thank you to everyone.

“I will give my very best after yesterday’s successful surgery to be back on the pitch as soon as possible and be even better than before.”

James Milner says Liverpool’s Champions League hopes are in their own hands.

“The position we are in means it is irrelevant what other teams think and do,” Milner said.

“We know that if we do the business in our remaining games, it will be good enough I am sure. It is down to us.

“We don’t want to get sidetracked or have to worry about other results. Hopefully, we can take care of business ourselves.”
