ADELAIDE United won’t lodge an official complaint against Brisbane Roar assistant coach Ross Aloisi for his altercation with Reds’ counterpart Jacobo Ramallo.

That’s despite Adelaide defender Dylan McGowan calling for “repercussions if there was something done wrong”.

Football Federation Australia is investigating the Coopers Stadium tunnel incident between Aloisi and Reds assistant coach Ramallo in the heated aftermath to Adelaide’s controversial 2-1 win over Brisbane on Sunday.

Ramallo went to ground, with allegations he was man-handled by Aloisi.

Reds chairman Greg Griffin said his club would not make a complaint about the incident.

“We have a very good relationship with the Roar,” Griffin said.

“FFA will investigate what happened and deal with it.”

Roar managing director Mark Kingsman, who wasn’t at the match, won’t comment on the matter until he is fully briefed on the situation.

“Brisbane Roar will not make further comment until speaking to those involved and a thorough investigation is concluded” a Roar statement said.

McGowan said he did not see the incident but called for action.

“We are trying to market the game here in Australia and all these sort of incidents bring negative light to the game which is unfortunate,” McGowan said on Monday.

“I don’t know who was involved so I can’t be saying that they (the FFA) need to come down on whatever it is.

“The Adelaide tunnel has got plenty of people in it so someone has seen it.”

The incident overshadowed what was already a dramatic ending to the contest, with the Reds receiving two stoppage-time gifts from referee Stephen Lucas, who sent off Roar goalkeeper Michael Theo and awarded the hosts a penalty.

Theo had made a clumsy attempt to catch a regulation cross but when he did gain hold of the ball, he was grabbed from behind by McGowan.

In trying to free himself from McGowan, Theo caught the Reds defender in the side of the face with his elbow.

Lucas responded by sending off the Roar keeper before pointing to the penalty spot.

With Brisbane having used all their substitutes, midfielder Thomas Kristensen went in goals.

But the former Danish international was sent the wrong way by Sergio Cirio, who calmly slotted the ball home to secure cellar-dwellers Adelaide just their fourth win of the season.

Roar coach John Aloisi was disappointed with the performance of referee Lucas.

Diawara fires Reds in front0:47

A-League: Adelaide’s Baba Diawara just scored his first A-League goal to give the Reds a shock lead over Brisbane.

“In my opinion he clearly got the decision (to award the Reds a penalty) wrong,” Aloisi said.

“I don’t even think it was a red card because he was trying to shrug him off, but if he’s hit him, he’s hit him, but it was a clearly a foul on Theo.

“If he’s going to send Theo off, then it should be the free kick is for us for McGowan holding on to Theo and the red card goes to Theo, if he believes it’s a red card.

“He (Lucas) has got it wrong.”

Earlier, Lucas had sent off Reds playmaker Marcelo Carrusca for a second bookable offence in the 82nd minute.

The Roar’s loss leaves them three points adrift of third-placed Melbourne City, who thrashed Newcastle 4-0 on Saturday night.

Adelaide moved to within two points of ninth-placed Central Coast Mariners with their win.

The Reds went ahead in the 16th minute via Baba Diawara who headed home a Carrusca corner.

Brisbane equalised 15 minutes after half-time through Jamie Maclaren, who netted his 14th goal of the season, tapping home a pass from Corey Brown after Reds goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic failed to properly deal with a Kristensen shot.

The Roar were in control for the remainder of the contest, but couldn’t find a second goal, even after Carrusca’s red card.

Instead, it was Adelaide who grabbed through winner through Cirio’s penalty in the dramatic finish that led to Brisbane’s sixth loss of the season.
