Eden Hazard transfer BOMBSHELL: Chelsea star wants better players before signing contract

The Belgian star, set to lead Chelsea’s attack in the FA Cup final against Manchester United on Saturday and a target for Real Madrid this summer, has still not signed the £300,000-a-week contract that has been offered to him.

But he has now said he will take his time before signing any new deal at Chelsea and wait until he sees which new players are brought into the club this summer, after a desperately disappointing Premier League campaign.

Hazard has two years left on his current deal but , who are set to see coach Antonio Conte depart the club after the cup final, are desperate not to lose their star player.

“I’m waiting for new players next season,” said Hazard.

“I want good players because I want to win the Premier League next season. A lot of things, then we will see. It’s something big so I need to think of a lot of things.”

As for Conte’s future, believes that will have no bearing on Saturday’s final for Chelsea.

Hazard, who has never won the FA Cup but has lifted two Premier League titles and the Europa league since arriving at Stamford Bridge, said: “We don’t think about that. We’re just focusing on the game. We have one game to play and then we will see what happens at the end of the season.

“We need a trophy at the end of the season. At the moment we are nothing. We are not qualified for the Champions League next season, so this season has been bad.

“Now we can save this season a bit with this trophy, so we will give everything. I never won the FA Cup in six years here, so I hope this year it’s for me and for Chelsea.

“I need two more trophies to complete the set here – the Champions league and the FA Cup. Trophies are important. And it’s more important for me because I’ve never won this one.”

Chelsea’s dismal fifth-place finish after winning the title last year, was capped off a by a dreadful display in the 3-0 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday in their final league game. But Hazard is adamant that that performance will not affect what happens at Wembley.

He said: “We are focused, we are together, we are ready. We give everything. We just lose games that last year we didn’t lose. It is that simple. I think we gave everything but maybe we were a little bit unlucky this season. Yes, it was a bad season.

“It does not matter that we are facing Jose Mourinho on Saturday. It doesn’t matter who you play, you just want to win. We know how he will play, we just need to be ready.”

Romelu Lukaku remains a doubt for the FA Cup final after returning to United’s training base in an attempt to get himself fit.

Lukaku has been receiving treatment in Brussels for an ankle injury sustained against Arsenal 17 days ago and is racing against time to be ready to play some part against Chelsea.

United have scored just once in the three Premier League matches their leading scorer has missed and manager Jose Mourinho desperately needs his goal power as he looks to end the season with a trophy.

Lukaku is understood to have responded well to his treatment in Belgium, where he has been working with national team physio Lieven Maesschalck to ensure his recovery is on track.

But Mourinho will leave it as late as possible to decide whether to risk the striker – and may yet feel his best bet is to name him on the bench.

Meanwhile Mauricio Pochettino is set to snub any Chelsea bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge – and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is poised to cave in to the Argentine’s demands for money for new players.

Chelsea have targeted Pochettino as one of his potential replacements for Conte.

Tottenham last night announced that centre back Davinson Sanchez has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at the club until 2024. Sanchez only arrived at the club in a record £42m deal from Ajax last summer.defence.
