UFC news: Ronda Rousey opens door for UFC return ahead of Wrestlemania

The former UFC women’s bantamweight hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since her emphatic loss to Amanda Nunes, which saw her stopped by strikes in a little under 50 seconds.

California native Rousey is currently plying her trade in the WWE and is causing a stir in wrestling’s premier promotion.

The biggest name in the history of women’s mixed martial arts refused to close the door on a return to the after debuting in the WWE, leading many to believe we may see her lace up her gloves again.

And during an appearance on ESPN, ‘Rowdy’ refused to flat out rule a return to the UFC.

When asked if she knew she was done with MMA, Rousey replied: “I never said that.”

Rousey gave a similarly frosty response when asked if there was a possibility she ‘could go back in time’ to restart her MMA career.

“‘There’s a possibility that I could go back in time?’ That’s your question to me?” Rousey replied.

“I do not have the ability to go back in time, no.”

Rousey’s latest comments on her future, which come a little over two weeks before Wrestlemania 34, seemingly contradicted .

“I don’t know,” Rousey told Ellen DeGeneres when asked if she’d ever return to the UFC.

“I think it’s just as likely as me going back to another Olympics for judo.

“No one demanded a written resignation from me for judo and I don’t really think the same thing is necessary for fighting.

“I’m just doing what I enjoy and WWE is what I enjoy right now.”

One person who doesn’t want to see Rousey return to the fight game is UFC president Dana White, who reckons his good friend has nothing left to prove in the sport.

“I wouldn’t want to see it,” White said of a possible Rousey return to the UFC. “I don’t want it to have to happen. I care about her, and she’s got enough money.

“She’s got enough money and all of that stuff. I don’t want to see it happen.”
