You want to use a good makeup primer first.

“The most important aspect to achieving a natural look is to use a primer whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin,” said celebrity makeup artist Audrey Christine. Your base sets the tone for the rest of your makeup, she suggested.
To successfully apply your makeup primer onto your face, Audrey Christine recommended warming up your primer by rubbing it on your hand first before applying it onto your skin. Primers that are tacky or sticky tend to hold products longer, she added.
Use oil and wax-based foundations for natural-looking coverage.

“Use oil and wax based foundations with high pigments to achieve the second skin effect that looks like you aren’t wearing makeup,” explained New York-based makeup artist Kasey Adam Spickard.
Use powder product instead of cream for a natural-looking contour.

To achieve a natural-looking contour look, Audrey Christine recommended using powder products instead of cream. She said cream contour looks can look very strong, making powder products a necessity if you are going for a lighter and more natural look.
