X Factor 2018: Robbie Williams 'REPLACED' ahead of weekend in ITV judging shake-up

judge Robbie only joined the panel this series along with wife Ayda Williams.

However, it has now been reported Robbie will miss this Sunday’s show.

Ayda, Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson will return without Robbie, but the former Take That member reportedly has to tend to “other commitments”.

Robbie, 44, is thought to be away in South America for a pre-arranged tour date and is said to be being replaced by Nile Rodgers.

The 66-year-old Chic star will reportedly help Robbie with his Groups category for both Saturday and Sunday’s live shows.

According to reports, Nile will first appear on Saturday’s show to help Robbie, before the Let Me Entertain You singer hands over the reigns to Nile.

Saturday’s show will also be reportedly pre-recorded earlier in the evening so that Robbie can make both the ITV show and his concert abroad.

It is said fans home will not be able to tell the difference as the show will broadcast “as live”.

A TV source said: “Robbie was originally due to be off this Saturday as well but ITV have agreed a pre-record X Factor earlier in the evening this Saturday.

“So it means Robbie can do the show then get a late flight to Chile.”

The insider continued to The Sun: “The show will air ‘as live’ in its usual slot.

“Nile is a music legend so viewers will be in for a treat.”

This won’t be the first time viewers will have seen Nile make an appearance on the show this year.

He joined Louis at Judges’ Houses alongside Liam Payne to help whittle down the Boys category.

Some fans will no doubt be left disappointed by the shake-up, even more so by Robbie’s own category.

The mentor is leaving for Chile at a crucial time after losing one of his groups last weekend.

LMA Choir were in the bottom two against Brendan Murray, with Ayda sending the vote to deadlock.

Ultimately, Brendan received more public votes, with Dermot O’Leary announcing LMA Choir were being sent home.
