The first session of the Six Chair Challenge round kicked off, leaving Sharon alone as she sat at a separate desk away from Nicole, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh to make independent decisions.
However, her decision to send contestant Shanaya Atkinson-Jones home riled her fellow judges.
Speaking to another hopeful, Sharon said: “I am going to give you a chair. I am going to ask seat number five, Shanaya, to move.”
Bolting back in his chair, shocked head judge Simon gasped: “What?”
Louis was so stunned that he couldn’t move from his chair and was left open-mouthed.
Nicole sighed: “Oh my god,” as Shanaya emotionally left the ITV stage.
Sharon continued: “You’re going to have a great future. It’s just not your time right now. Good luck. Don’t give up.”
Simon still could not process the radical choice and quipped: “B****y hell!”
Nicole then added: “Wow, I can’t believe Sharon did that,” as the crowd jeered at Sharon.
Revealing how he would have handled the situation, Louis said: “I wouldn’t have sent her home. I liked Shanaya.”
