Wimbledon ladies’ British hopeful Laura Robson dazzles at pre-tennis tournament bash

Former junior champion Laura, 23, was among the first to arrive at the annual Women’s Tennis Association bash.

Wearing an asymmetric coral dress and understated black heels – and with her hair, usually tied back during matches, in loose waves – she posed happily for photographers.

The glamorous event, held at Kensington Roof Gardens in London, saw some of the top players don their finery for a night of celebration.

Pictures of the stars arriving were streamed live on Twitter for the first time so that fans could watch their favourite players, including former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, attend the event.

Players ditched their training diets to sample limited edition Haagen-Dazs strawberries and cream flavoured ice cream.

Laura, who won a silver medal in the mixed doubles at the London Olympics in 2012, playing alongside Andy Murray, will compete at Wimbledon this year after being given a wild card.

She lost on Wednesday to Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova at the Aegon Southsea Trophy and is ranked 188th in the world.

In 2013 she was ranked 27th, but persistent injuries have caused her to be absent from the WTA tour.

Joining her as wild cards in the ladies’ singles will be fellow Britons Heather Watson, Naomi Broady and Katie Boulter.
