Weight loss: Diet and health food costing less than 25p really DOES work scientists find

According to recent research published in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, consuming probiotics can reduce weight and BMI – and luckily for dieters, probiotic tablets can cost as little as 25p per capsule.

Researchers from the Department of Cardiology, Taizhou People’s Hospital, Taizhou, China combined the findings of 25 randomized human trials to get come to their conclusion.

The human trials they looked at investigated the impact of probiotic consumption on body weight and BMI in over 1,900 healthy adults.

They found taking probiotics reduced BMI and body weight, with the biggest reduction occurring in overweight adults.

They also found taking more than one type of probiotic and taking probiotics for eight weeks or more resulted in increased weight loss.

Qingqing Zhang, lead author of the study, wrote: “To date, quite a few researchers have investigated the effects of probiotics on body weight and BMI, without a consistent result.”

This particular study is significant because the researchers found that consumption of probiotics did lead to a modest decrease in body weight and BMI, and thanks to looking at such a large number of trials, the results are more conclusive.

The weight loss documented in the study was minimal, however even a small reduction in weight can be massively beneficial for health.

If you are trying to lose weight, as well as taking probiotics, there are three moves that could help you shed the pounds fast.

While getting in shape doesn’t take place overnight there is a quick way to slim down.

For those wanting to look and feel good in a short space of time this summer, Chris Wharton, Co-owner and Director at Better Body Group, has revealed how.

He said: “The people you see looking ripped on their holidays get that way by carefully structuring their training plans, being mindful of what they eat and, most importantly, for fat loss, create a consistent calorie deficit.

“That being said, the quickest way to get in shape is by including big, compound strength exercises, that recruit lots of muscle mass and subsequently raise the number of calories you burn throughout the day post workout.”

Chris has three exercises for those looking to get in shape on a tight schedule.

These are the push press, deadlift, and Spiderman press up.

Chris has shared pictures of exactly how to do the moves and full instructions.
