Most cat owners will know that our feline friends appear to be fascinated bathtubs, despite the fact they hate water.
This juxtaposition puts a lot of cats in a sticky situation.
That is exactly what has happened to the adorable black, white and ginger kitten trapped on the edge of a bath full of water.
This viral video, posted to image sharing site Imgur, shows the cute pet trying to judge whether it can jump from one side of the bath to the other.
The trapped cat makes a few move movements, from one side to the other, appearing to judge the distance.
The cat even looks as though it is about to make the leap at one moment.
However, the pet changes its mind at the last minutes and jumps into the water.
The poor cat is obviously horrified by being in the water and immediately turns around to crawl back onto the side of the bath.
At this moment the person filming the video appears to put the camera down to help the cat.
Another viral video starring a cat hit the web this week.
A man cruelly kicked his pet cat in an unprovoked attack – but suffered painful karma when something unexpected happened.
The man sits down, and the cat can be seen running off up the stairs behind him – and then karma strikes.
A cat named Felix has recently become a star, because she works in a train station.
Following the creation of a Facebook page dedicated to her life in July 2015 by commuter Mark Allan, a steady stream of treats and letters started arriving from all over the world.
When the cat was promoted from junior to senior pest controller a year ago the page went viral and attracted 100,000 likes.
Many of the toys and treats she received have benefited rescue cats throughout the area.
