A tourist has revealed an extremely rare insight into the highly secretive nation.
Video footage captured the creepy morning wakeup call for residents of North Korea.
Blaring through loudspeakers across the capital Pyongyang, the tune “Where Are You, Dear General” played for all to hear.
The eerie song was written by Kim Jong-un’s predecessor, Kim Jong II, in 1971.
It’s played out to the city’s residents every day at 6am.
Viewers were thoroughly freaked out by the footage, with some drawing parallels between the North Korea scenes and the TV show “X-Files”.
One YouTube user wrote: “This is the most depressing and eerie tone I have ever heard in my entire life.”
Another shared: “It’s like a post apocalyptic zombie world.”
One person commented: “I’m seriously frightened after watching this.”
The eye-opening video panned over city buildings and down to the deserted streets below them.
One woman was filmed raising her hands in various directions in an apparent salute, as she stood underneath a lone umbrella stand.
Workers corralled non-existent traffic and swept rubbish off roads, while a group of identically uniformed students trailed past in an organised line.
Other than these few sightings, the whole city appeared to be a ghost town.
The creepy clip has been viewed almost 800,000 times since it was uploaded.
