The video claims to show a boat of pirates attempting to attack the Seabourn Spirit cruise ship.
Taken from one of the ship’s windows, the footage captured a boat of at least four Somalian pirates wielding weapons.
They travelled alongside the huge cruise ship as they tried to jump on board.
The captain could be heard on the video making an announcement to the ship.
He said: “Ladies and gentleman, stay inside. We are trying to run away from them now.
“Please stay inside everybody, this is a real alarm.”
Seabourn Spirit was attacked by two boats of pirates in November 2005.
The ship was travelling from Egypt to Kenya when the attack unfolded, 100 miles off the coast of Somalia.
Pirates hurled grenades and fired machine guns as they attempted to board the cruise ship.
But they never came close enough thanks to the ship’s Long Range Acoustic Device, or LRAD, technology.
The sonic device is classed as a ‘non-lethal weapon’ which works by emitting an extremely shrill sound.
It’s comparable to a smoke detector’s alarm, although much louder.
