WATCH: Crocodile fights shark in deadly river monster battle at popular tourist spot

Australia has a reputation for its terrifying animals and this video has only added fuel to the fire.

The footage was captured from a charter boat on the popular Prince Regent River in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

A crocodile could be seen gliding along the surface of the water with its mouth open.

Sharks were also circling in the same spot, as all the animals vied for their next feed.

As the boat crew threw fish scraps out into the river, the saltwater crocodile reached for its meal.

But a shark loomed from below the surface and latched onto the catch too.

Suddenly the two deadly predators came face-to-face and within an instant it was clear the crocodile had won.

It snapped its giant jaws around the shark and promptly swam away with its distinctly larger fishy meal.

Chris Kennedy and Jadranko Silic were out fishing when they saw the spectacle unfold.

Mr Kennedy told The West Australian: “I’ve seen sharks and crocs in the wild, but I’ve never seen a croc catch a shark before.

“Everyone was pretty amazed. It’s not something you see every day.”

One shark that might stand a chance against a crocodile is Deep Blue, the largest great white shark captured on camera

A group of scuba divers had the underwater show of a lifetime when the world’s biggest shark emerged from the deep blue sea.

Measuring a staggering seven metres long (23ft), the female great white is believed to be at least 50 years old.

It was captured on video off the coast of Guadalupe Island in Mexico.

Hair-raising footage showed the shark swim vertically up towards a cage with a group of divers inside of it.
