With a rise in dash cam, footage of shocking drivers quickly spreads highlighting the dangerous manoeuvres by some road users.
This video is one of those occasions where astonishingly dangerous driving only narrowly avoids an accident.
According to the Chester Standard, Michael Schofield 53, was driving down the M56 in the outer lane when he approached a tipper lorry.
The footage captured Michael pulling up to the lorry in his Audi A7, alongside the HGV driver whose dash cam captured the manoeuvre.
Instead of breaking, the Audi speeds up and pulls out into the front of the HGV.
Having put his foot down to drive past the tipper truck, the brake lights flash and the indicator is finally applied.
Having speed past the truck, and instead of carrying along the empty left-hand road, Michael pulls back into the right-hand lane.
However, it appears he might have mistimed the takeover. Just after he once again changes lanes, the brake lights flash.
As the take over happened so fast the truck has had little time to react so as the car starts to break it looks as those the truck is going to smash into the back.
Slamming on his breaks and indicating left, the tipper truck manages to pull back of the way whilst Michael speeds off.
According to the report, Michael has later been prosecuted for his dangerous driving.
In a statement in court, the tipper driver revealed: “It could have been a completely different story if I hadn’t braked so quickly.”
He went on to comment on Michael’s driving saying: “I did think to myself ‘you nutter!”
PC Liz Thompson from the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, Cheshire Police said: “The footage clearly showed that Schofield deliberately undertook the tipper truck, then for no apparent reason deliberately pulled out into the path of the vehicle and intentionally slammed on his brakes.
“Thankfully the driver of the truck was able to stop his vehicle in time and did not collide with Schofield’s car. However, I have no doubt that had it not been for the driver’s quick-thinking actions, there could have been a serious collision, and the lives of innocent motorists could have been put at risk.”
Another astonishing incident captured on a dash cam went viral after a driver manages to pull off a miraculous move.
The footage is filmed from the dashboard of a car waiting to pass through a line of barriers and shows a car pulling out in front.
However, before the door is fully closed, the car speeds off towards a busy road on the other side of the barriers.
For a tense moment, it looks as though a serious collection is about to unfold.
However, in a shocking turn of events, the speeding car drives up a grass embankment and manages to fly over the silver car clearing it by a couple of inches.
