WATCH: Aeroplane struggles to LAND in strong winds

Plane landings don’t always go as smoothly as passengers would like them to.

Often turbulence can lead to the aircraft landing with a bang, or bouncing on the ground before reaching a full stop.

But this viral video taken by a passenger on an Enter Air plane shows a much scarier scenario.

It shows a plane struggling to land as it battles the furious 100mph winds of storm Herwart.

Taken from a window on the aircraft, the camera shows the plane shaking as it battles intense winds, rising up and down.

It is evident the plane is trying to land, but the weather conditions will not allow it to.

Towards the end of the video, the pilot has no choice but to take off into the sky again.

The problems started when the winds causing the plane’s right wing to drop as it approached the ground.

The aircraft briefly touched down on the runway before projecting up to the sky again, the Aviation Herald reported.

After the shocking failed landing, the pilot followed orders to return back to Frankfurt, where the plane – a Boeing 737-800 – had come from.

All passengers were reportedly safe after the aircraft arrived back at its departure airport.

However, it is fair to speculate the nervous flyers on the plane would have been shaken up.

Storm Herwart, which began over the weekend, left six people killed and several injured as it crossed central and northern Europe.

It caused thousands of homes to be without electrical power and caused widespread travel chaos.

Four of the victims in Poland and the Czech Republic were killed by falling trees, including a man who drove his car into a tree.

Two of the victims were in Germany, including a 63 year old man who drowned at a campsite.
