WARNING: Next issue recall for children's shoes that pose DEADLY choking hazard

The footwear, designed for children, feature silver studs, which the brand has now warned could choke young children.

The tiny details, which are attached to the shoe for design reasons, could cause a problem.

The brand announced the star shaped rivets pose a hazard on their website.

Concerned adults can check the sandals for the item number 193426 on the heel strap

A statement on the Next website reads: “We wanted to get in touch with you because we’ve identified a problem with the sandal shown above. 

“You’ll find the item number (193426) on the heel strap.

“Unfortunately, it’s come to light that there’s a potential problem with the star rivets, which could become detached, presenting a choking hazard to young children.”

There is a worry the star-shaped studs could choke youngsters. 

The brand is urging people to return the shoes, as they do not meet the specifications for the brand.

“We’ve taken the decision of recalling them, and we’re requesting that you return them to us for a full refund,” the website reads.

“If you’ve given this item as a gift, please ask the recipient to get in touch with Next.”

“We’re very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience this may cause, but we hope you’ll understand that customer safety is our highest priority.”

Customers affected should call – 0333 777 8185 – to arrange a collection, or they can return it to their local store for a full refund of the cost.

Express.co.uk has asked Next for comment.
