Volkswagen unveils the I.D. Vizzion Concept

Volkswagen unveils fourth I.D. Concept. VW unveiled the I.D. Vizzion Concept, the 4th installment of the I.D. family, at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The Vizzion features level 5 automation and artificial intelligence capable of learning from its operator. Vizzion utilizes a 111 kWh lithium-ion battery and produces 302 horsepower with an estimated range of 413 miles. Vizzion operates without a steering wheel or pedals. The operator interacts with the vehicle via gesture control, augmented reality, and mixed reality eyewear. It uses biometrics to open doors and adjusts settings for familiar riders. Vizzion uses a complex system of interconnected laser scanners, sensors, and radar to maneuver obstacles and terrain. Volkswagen promises that we’ll start to see I.D. vehicles on the road by 2020.

This is Volkswagen’s fourth installment to the I.D. family. Vizzion will feature level 5 autonomy and A.I. technologies that will allow it to operate on its own without the use of a steering wheel or pedals.
