Trump calls on Saudi Arabia to lift Yemen embargo

US President Donald Trump called on Saudi Arabia to lift its blockade of Yemen and “completely allow food, fuel, water and medicine to reach the Yemeni people who desperately need it.” In a statement issued by the White House on Wednesday, Trump said this “must be done for humanitarian reasons immediately.” On Tuesday, the UN called for a humanitarian truce to allow for the delivery of aid to civilians trapped in the Yemeni capital Sana’a.
