For any fan of the Titanic love story, they may want to book their tickets now.
A life-size replica of the ship which was meant to be unsinkable, is being built for a brand new theme park opening in 2019.
The theme park in China is creating the true-to-scale project in honour of the sunken ship, which will be fully interactive for guests.
The vessel will be one of the huge attractions on offer in China’s Sichuan province.
The replica ship has cost a whopping £115 million to recreate; in comparison, the original cost just £4.9 million to build.
The recreated cruise liner will have a fully immersive experience on offer, with ballroom dancing and banquet halls hoping to recreate the days of the past.
For guests wanting to stay on the boat, ticket prices range from £315 a night to £11,597 depending on the luxury of the cabin.
Shaojun Su, chief executive of Yongle Seven Star Cultural Tourism Development Company, said ”many Chinese fans” were enthusiasts of the 1997 film, and would enjoy the replica ship and its amenities.
However, families of the deceased have slammed the decision to build a replica as being insensitive to those who suffered.
Jean Legg, whose father was on the ship, said: “My dad lived to be nearly 90. If he knew this was being replicated, I think he’d be turning in his grave.”
There were rumours of an iceberg simulator also being included for a ‘6D experience’ but it was eventually decided against.
Bruce Beverage, part of the American firm helping to build it, convinced the park to drop it as it would be “in poor taste”.
