The Walking Dead star warns season 7 finale is ‘HEARTBREAKING’ as this death looks certain

The 39-year-old, who stars as sword-wielding heroine Michonne in the AMC series, teased the the looming episode, titled The First Day of The Rest Of Your Life, will be an almighty emotional rollercoaster for fans as several lives hang in the balance. 

“It brings you to the precipice of all your fears and all your hopes,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I definitely felt that heart-stopping pain and hopeful joy at the same time while reading it.

“You’re pretty riveted and very full by the end of that, at least I very much was. It’s the heartbreak and the hope all rolled into one episode.”

Her comments come after Sasha Williams, played by Sonequa Martin-Greene, was last seen clinching a poisonous pill after threatening to take her own life while in Negan’s captivity. 

After storming into The Saviour’s den with fellow warrior Rosita, Sasha was swiftly taken down and held hostage.

It’s been widely speculated that Sasha’s journey with Rick Grimes and the gang would be coming to an end this cycle after actress Martin-Greene signed up to play the lead in Star Trek: Discovery

Lauren Cohan, who stars as expectant mother Maggie, also described the season seven conclusion “bittersweet”, while Norman Reedus compared the instalment to Mel Gibson’s Braveheart.

“It’s nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here, and it’s nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running towards killing this guy,” he said. “It’s completely different than all the other [season finales].

“It has similar elements, but it’s completely different, and, you know, there might be a little William Wallace in it.”

The Walking Dead season 7 finale airs this Monday on FOX UK at 9pm.
