The Walking Dead season 8: Showrunner promises 'BIG DEATHS' will shock fans

Viewers of the hit series are currently preparing for “all-out war” between Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) when the show returns next month.

And it looks like there will be plenty of casualties on both sides as showrunner Scott. M. Gimple has promised more major characters will meet their demise.

He told Entertainment News: “There are some big deaths this season, but I think they’ll possibly catch people by surprise.”

The AMC series is certainly known for killing off huge characters in dramatic twists, but who will be next?

The interview with the cast members comes ahead of the show’s 100th episode – with Andrew, who plays Rick Grimes, revealing the show is going back to its old glory days.

The 44-year-old said: ”I think that last season was very painful for everybody.”

“And now you get a certain sense of a reclaiming of the old show and the swagger.”

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 22 and will follow a day later on FOX UK.
