Is Negan alive in The Walking Dead season 8?
One of the biggest antagonists on the zombie-horror series, Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is leader of the Saviours.
He has been the biggest villain in the AMC series since season six.
In the season eight episode, All Out War, Negan even ordered his followers to coat their weapons in Walker viscera or fluid so that anyone struck would be infected, even if their wound wasn’t fatal.
In the last episode of The Walking Dead to air, How It’s Gotta Be, Negan is tricked by carl (Chandler Riggs) and the people of Alexandria escape before he can do any damage.
However, once he realises he’s been tricked, he orders the Saviours to destroy the community safe-zone.
Negan and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) have a huge, violent confrontation before Rick escapes and goes to Carl who revealed he’s been bitten by a walker.
Does Negan die in the comic books?
It’s bad news for Rick and Carl – Negan does not die in the comic book series of The Walking Dead.
While the post-apocalyptic series does’t follow the comic books religiously, it looks like this character will be sticking around for a while in both.
In the source material on which the series is based, Negan is captured and imprisoned by Rick.
In Volume 19, Rick and Negan have a discussion in person and actually see eye-to-eye, with Negan agreeing that they will never be able to live in harmony if he continues his ways
The just when began lets his guard down, Rick slits his throat – but Negan doesn’t die and instead is thrown in a jail cell where he remains for the rest of his life.
Will Negan die in The Walking Dead season 8?
Even though Negan survives in the comics, show runners have often deviated from the original material.
The official synopsis for the midseason premier, Honor, is: “Rick faces new difficulties after a battle. Meanwhile, the fight continues in other communities as core members face hard decisions.”
The action will pick up with the fall out of Carl showing his dad his Walker bite.
The Walking Dead season 8 will air at 9pm on FOX UK on Monday, February 26.
