The Real Marigold Hotel: 'Diva' Sheila Ferguson reveals she went on a DATE during filming

The 61-year-old The Three Degrees star said that she had a romantic evening during the four-week shoot on the BBC series in Kerala, India.

Sheila, who has been single for eight years, was asked out while she was filming in a restaurant with her fellow senior celebrities.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh, she revealed: “He’s an architect and he built a house for his family.”

She added: “I found someone, he asked me out,” before admitting that she bought a dress for her special date night.

Sheila was joined on the ITV show by fellow star of The Real Marigold Hotel Lionel Blair, who dished more about the moment the pop star was asked out.

“We were all just sitting there and looked like, what?’,” he explained, saying that it was a complete shock for him and the rest of the stars because it was completely unexpected.

She married property developer Chris Robinson in 1980 but the pair, who have twin daughters, divorced in 2004.

She subsequently had a partner who sadly died and has been on her own since – until her recent date in India.

Lionel, 88, also reflected on his experience on the BBC series, which returned last night for a second outing with a new set of national treasures.

“I loved the people. When we first got there the hotel was very nice. It was a bit like a shanty town but it wasn’t. Day-by-day I started to say, ‘that was lovely’,” he explained.

When asked by Kate, 49, whether he would retire in India, Lionel said: “No, because I like seasons. I like winter, summer, spring.”

Last night’s opening episode of The Real Marigold Hotel proved to be an explosive watch as Sheila ended up clashing with Bill Oddie, leaving viewers fuming at her diva behaviour.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
