The Nightly Show: Davina McCall reveals SEX TOY confession involving Tom Hardy on CBeebies

The 49-year-old star, who is guest hosting this week’s edition of the ITV evening entertainment show, made the shocking confession at the start of her first episode.

She opened the show by talking about The Dark Knight Rises star, 39, and his popularity on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, which has become a viral sensation.

Referring to a topless photo of the Peaky Blinders actor, she told the audience: “I mean, hello! Like most CBeebies shows, the programme will try and teach kids something: specifically that mummy likes to watch this alone with her bedroom door locked.

“Last time his appearance caused quite a buzz – and guys, if you’re not sure what I mean by that, check your wife’s bedside drawer.”

She then made a bunny ears gesture with her hands on her head, hinting at a particular brand of sex toy.

It appeared that her comic timing landed perfectly and the studio audience were left in stitches.

Her joke comes after it was announced that Tom would be returning for a third time for a Mothers’ Day special to read another tale to young viewers.

Meanwhile, Davina’s appearance follows on from comedians John Bishop and David Walliams presenting the programme.

The former Big Brother host got a frosty reception on Twitter last night as some viewers were left less than impressed by her initial performance on The Nightly Show.

It appeared that Davina quit Twitter shortly before her stint began, as she told her 2.82 million followers: “I hosting the nightly show all week x I’m off twitter till Saturday so if you hate it …. fill yer boots! (sic.)”

Last night’s edition of the show saw Davina interviewing guests Boy George and Line of Duty star Vicky McClure.

The Nightly Show airs weekdays on ITV at 10pm.
