The Jump 2017: Sir Bradley Wiggins forced OUT of the competition with leg injury

The 36-year-old cycling legend was due to compete in the snow cross race tonight with fellow stars Louis Smith, Robbie Fowler and Mark Dolan.

Sir Bradley was asked by presenter Davina McCall how he felt about missing out on  the battle.

He said: “I’m disappointed I’d love to be out there with the boys.

“I’m just hopeful I can stay in the competition and be back next week.”

The 2012 Tour de France champion will receive a bye to next week’s show, if he is fit enough to compete.

The Jump has become notorious for being one of the most dangerous reality shows on TV after it has been plagued by accidents.

Vogue Williams crashed out of this year’s show before it even started after sustaining a knee injury.

Last year saw former gymnast, Beth Tweddle, suffer a horrific back injury resulting in her needing to wear a brace.

Another Olympian, Rebecca Adlington was also forced to quit the show after dislocating her shoulder.

The Jump continues next Sunday at 7.30pm on Channel 4.
