Tesla employee bus crash kills off-duty cop

NBC is reporting that a bus carrying 55 Tesla employees heading to Stockton, CA, rear-ended a vehicle, tragically killing its occupant. The crash took place on I-580 in Northern California. One occupant on the bus is reported to have minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol told NBC news that the occupant of the vehicle struck was an off-duty police officer from the Bay Area. The bus was reportedly contracted by the company; it was not a Tesla-owned bus nor was it built by the company. The accident was allegedly caused by severe glare that prevented the bus driver from seeing the vehicle struck.

This is a breaking story and will be updated if more details are reported.
